Lowdermilk Park Beach, Naples Florida

I actually lived in Naples Florida for 6 years, right after relocating from Germany in 1998. So I found myself living in paradise, swapping the grey, cold German weather with white sandy beaches, waving palm trees, and the never ending sunshine in cozy Naples Florida!

The Lowdermilk Park-Beach in Naples, was my favorite, as it took us just 5 minutes to drive there from our home.

We went to this beach for many things:

*Jogging in the early morning. You could see schools of stingrays in the shallow water

*Lunch, just to relax for awhile

*A sunset picnic. We took a basket of hummus dips, fresh bread, and an "undercover" bottle of wine to watch the sunset!

Naples has many great beaches that are really long with soft, white sand. They're wonderful for jogging or long leisurely walks with your shoes in your hands and your pants rolled up to your knees.

Along the way on these beaches, you can also stop for a great cool smoothie, a light lunch, or sunset celebration cocktail. There are options abound - without overcrowding the endless views of sand and palm trees, or getting too commercial.

Now I live in Las Vegas. You can say the opposite of the relaxed beach-life in Naples. I like the buzz of the big city, but I sure miss the long walks on the Naples beaches, into the sunset, and of course the sound of the ocean.
