If you like the beach, the sun, the sea breeze and something interesting to do, go shelling! I have found Vanderbilt Beach to have some of the prettiest seashells. There are so many intact shells, you don't have to settle for broken ones -- unless you want to! And you don't have to sit or lie in one place, feeling hot and bored, to enhance your tan!
Shelling provides a great opportunity to soak up some rays(wear adequate SPF, of course), while passing the time, searching for the "perfect" shell. If you're feeling a little too warm, walk in the water -- or get really brave and dive in! If you're equipped with a mask, you can find some rare beauties, even before they've reached the shore.
Try shell collecting. It's one of my favorite things to do in Naples. It's also a wonderful educational family activity.
